My fitness journey has been a rough one.
I many not have been overweight, but I was still extremely unhealthy.
My blood pressure was at 139/94, worse than both my parents. I had crazy, irregular heartbeats. I’d get completely nauseated walking up one flight of stairs. I had terrible depression and anxiety. There have been weeks of just eating junk in my room and watching Netflix. I treated myself so badly.
I started working out in April, but quickly when back into depression mode. I just recently got back into fitness!
I’m feeling more dedicated than ever. My blood pressure is at 122/84, I no longer have irregular heartbeats, and I’m able to walk up a flight of stairs without gagging haha.
I’m looking forward to continuing my fit journey. I’m still dealing with my depression and anxiety, but I’m hoping that eating clean and exercising more will help with my condition.

“The bottom two pictures were taken on March 1st of 2014!
I eat pasta, calamari, chicken legs, sushi, salads, smoothies, meatballs, cereal, fruits, sandwiches, lots of vegetables… Personally, I hate running. I don’t like strenuous workouts, repetitive things… I enjoy keeping my soul happy and doing what makes me happy.
“Thought it was time for another before and after, although I’m still a work in progress.
The last few months my body has changed a lot, it’s a lot stronger and I’ve built a lot of mucle. It may not be visible in these last pics, but believe me: I lift heavier than ever before and I run faster and further than I ever could’ve imagined.
The two last pictures shows that my upper body strength has increased, and that my horrible bloated belly has shrunk into something that reminds a lot of a flat stomach 😉
27 lbs off my body, and I’m not sure if I want to lose more weight. I probably will lose at bit more when running season starts, but over all I think I want to focus on building muscles and tone my arms and back.
This is the coolest expermient I’ve ever done! :D

I hope to lose more weight before summer, but last year I lost 50 pounds and it was the best decision of my life. I did diet changes and I am 10x’s healthier. I have become 10x more fit and confident with myself. My ugw is 130, so if you have any tips, I would love some!

Just a quick reminder: being thin isn’t going to make you happy. You need to start making yourself happy today. You are beautiful and you are worth it.
“I started my journey in Aug 2011 and it took me 5 months to drop all the weight. I’ve learned so much since that day I decided to make a change. It’s all about making the lifestyle change and sticking to it. Stop putting “fake” foods into your body and start eating “real” food only, work out and get enough sleep. Treat your body with the respect it deserves.
If you’re on a weight loss journey, remember you can do it. Take it day by day and I promise you’ll reach your goal!!

Now 2014: not weighing myself but continuing a healthy lifestyle

I felt the need for a reminder of how far I’ve come, I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately so it’s time for a before during and during.
Before – 230lbs, 3.5 years ago before my first attempt to start my fitness journey (it’s didn’t really start till about a year later)
During – 180lbs, A year ago, about 6 months into my journey
During 2 – ~140lbs, this morning (3/29/14) almost two years into my journey.
I did it by eating a clean vegan diet, while still allowing myself some treats, running and becoming more active. My life has become exponentially better since my journey started. And I don’t think it is due to the physically change, so much has changed mentally within myself. I have showed myself how much I can achieve by myself and hat has caused my confidence to go beyond what I ever thought it could be.
“I love turning selfies into before & afters, and the before just happens to be from almost exactly a year ago when I was home for Spring Break. so I figured it’d make a great Transformation Tuesday as well! There’s probably about a 20lb. difference between the two pictures, running and weightlifting has done wonders for my body but the real key to long-term weightloss success is proper nutrition, and remember every healthy choice matters!
