In honor of reaching my next to last goal weight here is a before and during!
Before – 230lbs
During – 138.4lbs
It has not been an easy or short journey. I started almost three years ago now and there have been plenty of 3 or even 6 month long plateaus, periods of not caring, and a battle with an eating disorder BUT I have never completely given up. I am the one who put myself at 230 pounds and I am the only one that can take that weight away. No pills or surgery just a healthy eating and being active. I now feel like I can live the life I was meant to. Has it solved all my problems? No, but it sure as hell made life easier.

October 2013 —-> November 2014

With the help of a dietician and therapist I was able to stop binge eating. Ironically though, I still eat just as much and often! Now it’s more nutrient dense healthy foods. Before I was trying to eat 1200 calories a day thinking that would help me lose weight but I would be so hungry by the end of the day and end up binging. Binging became my go to escape to deal with my emotions. Now I’m eating double that and the weight slowly just shed off. When you are regularly feeding your body healthy food, it trusts you enough to know that there’s no need to hold onto it as fat since another meal is right around the corner. A super low calorie won’t make you skinny, it’ll just make your body hold onto the extra weight thinking it will need it. I highly reccomend seeking outside help if you need it!

Before and after of my forty pound weightloss! I went from a size 14 to a 4! Please please don’t be afraid of changing your lifestyle and just get out there an go for it it’s all so worth it!!!

Stay humble, stay hungry.

Down over 100lbs, now focusing on toning, building muscle (that will probably come with some gains) in preparation for my body lift (skin removal surgery) in 6 months!!! More posts on that to come!!

I break down I beat myself up I tell myself I’m not where I’m supposed to be but when you look back at where I came from it’s the true reality of a warrior and I’m proud of my body. Here I was 2 years ago struggling at a weight that was obese for my height here I am now pushing past the pain and accepting myself for who I am and how far I’ve come. People ask me all the time how am I so confident in my body this is the answer right here I used to look a whole lot different.

My name is Matt Diaz. I was nearly 500 pounds in 2009. At the age of 16, I became a member of a study at the NYU Medical Center to see how the Lap Band would affect people under the age of 18. In the 5 years since, I’ve lost over 270 pounds and become one of their best patients to date.

Say what you want, my sweat says I’ve earned this. In the first picture I had already lost 25 lbs. Don’t wish for it, work for it! Size 28w to size 6 jeans, size 3x tops to size medium. Size 8 ring to side 5 ring. Size 10 shoe to size 8.5-9. Size 46DDD bra to size 36D.
